A Masterwork from Noel Bourret

This beautiful French Empire, old mantel clock is from the late 1700s and by the master, “Noel Bourret a Paris,” one of the all time greats in the manufacturing of beautiful French clocks. It is of Bisque Porcelain and Gilt Bronze, of a Chariot with a robed maiden and drawn by a gilded bronze swan.

The enamel dial is marked Bourret a Paris (Noel Bourret, France, 1755-1803) one of the most important old Parisian clockmakers of the late 18th century. It rests on a cobalt blue and gilded oval plinth. the size is 11 W, 4.5 D, 10 inches high.  It is one of the finest examples of  vintage French mantel clocks that we have for sale. SHELF CLOCK c 1700'S BY DUBOIS A PARIS

A French shelf clock, Circa:1780, with gilt bronze case and opalescent glass base and decorative feet, Roman numeral gilt dial with blued steel Breguet style hands, verge Fusee, just rebuilt/serviced watch movement signed “Dubois, A Paris” No. 1553, who is Denis-François Dubois, 30 hour time only, with ornate balance bridge and a silvered regulator disc.

The case is in good condition, and the glass base has been repaired, yet it does not detract from the overall beauty of this gorgeous shelf clock. Unlike many from so long ago, it has its original hands.
